Celebrate the steps along the way quote

Celebrate each step along your journey.

Real success is “a way of being that’s awakened in you over time.”
~ Tama Kieves, “A Year Without Fear”

What this quote means to women entrepreneurs:
Every morning I read a passage from some motivational, spiritual, or other uplifting text. Right now I’m working my way through 365 Ernest Holmes and A Year Without Fear by Tama Kieves. Today’s quote comes from today’s reading in the latter.

When I read it, I knew I needed to share it because too many times people give themselves short shrift because they aren’t experiencing success quickly enough. I know I’ve beat myself up over not achieving my big goals according to schedule. Sometimes I even feel bad when altering or giving up on a big goal because it no longer serves me.

What we all need to pay more attention to are the little successes we have every day. These are incremental milestones that we achieve on our journey toward big goals, and we achieve even if we never actually reach the big goal. Sometimes the benefits we get from aiming high are just as good as — or even better than — reaching the ultimate goal.

But we diminish those benefits when we don’t acknowledge how far we’ve come. Every time we strive for better or more, we grow. We change our way of being just a hair, which in turn, changes our ultimate trajectory by a mile or more. Each little change, awakens us to our better, truer self, a touch more.

This is the journey of Owning Your Awesome. Recognize that you took a step forward. Celebrate that achievement regardless of size or percentage of the way. Acknowledge the blessing of moving forward.
