Day 6 of Celebrate You!

Celebrate You! Daily Quote:

Do these nights of popular celebration cause ancient and forgotten avatars to stir in the depths of the human soul?

Yesterday, Day 5 of the 31-Day Celebrate You! Challenge, I celebrated my limits.

What? You might ask. How can you celebrate limits?! Well, let me tell you my thoughts on this:

Owning Your Awesome means being your best self at every moment. Sometimes your Awesome is truly awe-inspiring. At others, not so much. Honoring that you have limits and that those limits are fluid depending on the situation is also honoring and owning your Awesome.

Case in point: As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I’ve been experiencing some back pain … to the point of severely limiting my mobility. As much as I may have mentally wanted to be a go-getter yesterday, my body just wouldn’t let me. It took me about an hour to put my socks and shoes on! It took me all day to get my morning routine done because I had to keep taking breaks to ice or stretch my back.

And I relaxed into that much slower than normal rhythm and honored my limitations.

I’ll admit that in my youth I didn’t always honor my limitations and ended up hurting myself and, a couple of times, in physical therapy! I like to believe that I’ve become wiser with age.

I love my life and I’m not going to let impatience, pride and busy-ness get in the way.

How did you celebrate you yesterday?
