Discovering your Awesome Avatar

Your Awesome Avatar is your personal combined representation of all your archetypes. Creating your Awesome Avatar gives you a clear idea of what is possible for you to achieve. He or she helps you visualize what you are capable of doing, being and achieving.

In this second excerpt of the The CAP Podcast, Episode 18, I talk about the Awesome Avatar: what it is and how you might go about discovering your own.

There is a theory that states if you pretend to be something long enough, you become that something. When you emulate your Awesome Avatar, you step closer to becoming that best version of yourself. Your Awesome Avatar internalizes your hero. Your hero is no a person or character outside of yourself. Your hero is you … your hero is the best part of you that you can call forth in times of need. It is your Awesome Avatar that makes Owning Your Awesome that much easier.

Mohandas Gandhi believed that “A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes.” By having an Awesome Avatar to meditate upon, to focus on, to call forth when you need to invoke your inner strength, you take charge of the direction of your thoughts, therefore taking charge of who you become.

So how do you create your Awesome Avatar? You start of by inquiring within. What archetypes are you attracted to? You can use archetype systems that are already created. Or, you can just look back on your favorite fictional characters.

Take a look at the patterns revealed in your favorite characters and you’ll start to have an inkling of what your Awesome Avatar might be like.
