Before you can create, you must dream.

Before you can think outside the box, you must free your mind to do so.

To get better results than others in your field, you must do things they aren’t doing.

Entrepreneurs are dreamers, free thinkers, and rebels. They dream up new business ideas and then act on them. They don’t let other people’s preconceived notions get in the way of their business growth. And they often are outsiders, rebelling against what is considered the norm.

If you want your business to go beyond where it is today, you will have to stretch. You will have to dream your big dream and get clear on what that is. You will have to be willing to think of ways to get there that you haven’t used before. And you may have to do so with others trying to hold you back.

But I have faith in you. I know that you wouldn’t have gotten this far reading this post if you didn’t have at least a little bit of dreamer, free thinker and rebel in you.

So here’s your homework for the week:

• Write down your vision for where you want your business to be in five years.
• Write down all the methods you are currently doing to get there.
• Take a highlighter and highlight those methods that are actually working.
• Vow to stop doing those methods you didn’t highlight.
• Hire a coach to help you stretch into a better business for 2011.
