The Gifted Journey

Summary of The Gifted Journey

Author Stephanie Moore shares her five-step process for uncovering your unique path in life:
1. Discover
2. Discern
3. Dream
4. Design
5. Do
Associated with each step are exercises that help the reader dig deep and reveal what will bring them true joy and fulfillment in their life.

What I liked about The Gifted Journey

This book may be thin in page count (103 pages, including endnotes), but it is thick in value. In many ways, this book reminded me of Pay Me What I’m Worth by Souldancer. The book looks deceptively simple, but as you read what the exercises would have you do, you realize that this is not a quick and easy process. Some exercises could take you days if you give the their due. What I like about that is this book is not a bunch of fluff. This is valuable work you can do to transform your life.

What I didn’t like about The Gifted Journey

You might have guesses what I’m about to say — this process is HARD. If you really want to gain value from this book, you’re going to need to set aside some time to really work through the exercises. In fact, I’d recommend allowing at least a month per step, possibly even more.

That said, once the hard work is over, it is only a matter of revisiting and updating over time to continue your growth.

What I’d Love to See in the Second Edition

This book could easily be re-imagined as an interactive journal, with plenty of blank pages to record your notes and thoughts about each exercise. Barring that, many of the exercises could benefit from a downloadable worksheet — beyond the MAPP the author offers for download.

If you truly want to delve into your life in order to discover your calling, The Gifted Journey is an excellent guide.

NOTE: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. If you’ve read past book reviews, you’ll know that I don’t pull my punches when I believe they are warranted. I also try to provide balanced information so you can make your own decision to read or not read the book, even if you disagree with my opinion.
