Never give up …

In honor of Women’s History Month, all the Power Thoughts in March will be from women authors.

Harriet Beecher Stowe“Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.”
~ Harriet Beecher Stowe

What this quote means to entrepreneurial authors:
Ever hear of the phrase, “three feet from gold” or “three feet from diamonds”? That is what Harriet Beecher Stowe is talking about here.

Often, when things get really hard in achieving a goal, people will give up … right before they were about to break through to success. Many times, it is in that moment of decision … should I keep trying to reach my goal or cut my losses? … that people make the wrong decision.

Yes, there are times when giving up is the right thing to do, but before you take that step, ask yourself this question:

From what place am I making this decision?

Fear? Resignation? Strategy?

In other words, are you making your decision to quit from a place of personal power or a place of personal weakness? If you are standing in your power and you think that no longer striving for this goal serves your highest and best interests, then be my guest! But, if you are coming from a place of fear, ignorance or some other dis-empowering place, then you may very well need to stick to this goal for a bit longer.
