“I am not a product of my circumstances.
I am a product of my decisions.”
~ Stephen Covey
“The only person you are destined to become
is the person you decide to be.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
What these quotes mean to entrepreneurs:
Two people can experience the same scenario but have different results because of how they decide to react.
Your decisions … to turn right or turn left, to send a follow up message or not, to call someone or not … all determine the outcomes you get.
As entrepreneurs, we’ve all decided to be the masters of our fates. We’ve decided to not let someone else put a cap on our income, tell us how much we can earn, or whether we can work at all.
But, as they say in Spiderman, with great power comes great responsibility.
You are responsible for the decisions you make. Not the economy. Not the client du jour. Not the weather. Not your partner.
You.
And don’t pretend it is any other way or you will give your power away to the whim of whatever.
Stephen and Ralph are saying some powerful stuff here. They are letting you know that you are the master of your life. That you can decide what you become. You can decide to take the actions that move you toward your goals … or not. You are in the driver’s seat of your life.
And that means you can decide to live your life on purpose or on autopilot.
What are you deciding today?
