Not all authors relish being on video. And although it is definitely a powerful way to market yourself, your business, and your books, there are alternatives that can be just as powerful. One of them is streaming audio – audio-only files that people can listen to online.

Not everything in the online marketing world costs money. You can actually get a fairly good start with online marketing with minimal investment. The basic expenses will be hosting and domain, which you can get for less than $100 per year. There are some email marketing services, such as MailChimp, that start out free and then cost a minimal amount once you’ve grown your list. But there are also no-cost marketing tools that will always remain free and should form the backbone of your online marketing efforts.
