A brilliant debater and England’s first and only Jewish Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, once said, “Nurture your mind with great thoughts; to believe in the heroic makes heroes.”
We all need heroes. Evoking them is empowering, a vital part of our emotional and spiritual growth. Without the examples of the heroes in our lives, how would we know the greatness we can all achieve and become the heroes of our own lives? Heroes point to the greatness that lies within all of us.
Often, in times of trouble or when making a major decision, we will evoke a hero — call to mind or memory through the power of our imagination a person or character we admire — using him or her as an invisible mentor who guides us to making the right choices and decisions.
But what if the hero you called to mind was the best version of yourself? This is what I call an “Awesome Avatar” — an iconic representation or embodiment of your higher, best most, Awesome self.
In this episode of The C.A.P. Podcast, I discuss archetypes and how they relate to the Awesome Avatar. I also suggest some ways you can uncover your archetypes and develop your Awesome Avatar, your personal combined representation of all your archetypes. Creating your Awesome Avatar gives you a clear idea of what is possible for you to achieve. He or she helps you visualize what you are capable of doing, being and achieving.
