If you have internet access (of course you do, you’re reading this!), read or watch the news, or these days even go on Facebook, you can find yourself pummeled by negative words and images on an almost daily basis. That can make it challenging to make a positive change in your life.
How do you diminish their negative effect on your psyche?
There are many solutions, and one of them happens to be a vision board.
By creating a vision board and then looking at it — preferably multiple times a day — it is like swallowing a happy pill. This is especially true if you included images of the people you love in life. Having a vision board with just material things can manifest them but you want joy and happiness with the people you are doing this for and with, as well.
Vision Boards Evoke Joy which Motivates Positive Change
All the images, buttons and text that you have placed on your vision board, should give you joy while searching for and placing them. Then you get to look at all this merry material and it can motivate you in a variety of ways.
- You will be motivated to look for — and see — everything positive in your life.
- You will be motivated to take more positive actions, from creating more vision boards to really working toward your goals.
- You will be motivated to be more grateful and happy.
Perhaps, before you created your board, you got out of bed each morning and thought about yet another day on the hamster wheel. However, spending a few minutes looking at your vision board when you arise will prompt you to take at least one action towards your goals.
Many times, people say, “I just don’t feel motivated.” They don’t understand that feeling motivated isn’t something that happens to you, it is a choice you make each and every day. If you want big results, you need to create your motivation by focusing on what truly matters to you.
Your Subconscious Minds Helps You Make Positive Change
Because vision boards speak to your subconscious mind, when they are created correctly, they evoke feelings of joy, expectation, happiness, and energy. I know that when I look at my vision board, I can’t help but smile. The positive feelings you can get from your board act like high-powered rocket fuel for your motivation.
Your vision board motivates you to make a positive change by first evoking positive feelings about the life you want to create as if it already existed. By evoking these feelings daily, you start to take action toward those goals. These actions reinforce those positive feelings and it becomes a recursive cycle.
When you have a big vision and are clear about what you want, it is easy to get motivated to take action. Picture starting your career over at the very beginning. You are sitting with your best friend and you both just got out of high school and you are wondering what to do with your life. The conversation might go like this:
“What do you want to do?”
“I don’t know, what do you want to do?”
And so forth. Without planning, goal setting and having clarity on exactly what you want from life, the world in front of you looks rather foggy. And that leads to inaction.
Vision boards can help you make a positive change in all areas of your life. Be clear about what you want and never stop until the universe delivers what you desire.
