You are always a part of the gifts you give.

“There can be no real gift unless the giver goes with it.”
~ Ernest Holmes

What this quote means to women entrepreneurs:
I’ve always believed in the sacredness of gift giving. My philosophy is that a gift is a representation of the relationship between the giver and the givee, that the best gifts are those that best match the highest intentions of that connection.

When you serve your clients, you are giving them a gift. The question becomes, then, are you giving of yourself in a way that best matches the highest intention of that connection?

When you give a gift with no forethought to it — be it a gift card you grabbed on your way out of the grocery store, or a session with a client in which you were not fully present in the moment — you betray the gift and the relationship.

As an example, when I write and record the posts I publish on this blog, I put myself into them wholly. You are receiving a gift that has the giver fully with it.

If your business is not living up to your expectations, if you are not seeing the results you want to see, you might want to take a look at how much of yourself you are including in the gifts you are giving through your business. Are you “phoning it in”? Are you holding some part of yourself back?

I know it can be hard to be fully present in the services you offer at times, but it is the only way to truly give your tribe your real gift.
